Long awaited post-pandemic DSLP 2019-20 cohort graduation ceremony

Congratulations to the 2019-20 cohort of the Lead's Dangoor Senior Leadership Programme (DSLP) for lay and professional leaders who were finally able to come together to mark their graduation on Sunday April 14th at Chai Cancer Care, Hendon, London. The 19-20 group, Lead's third senior leadership cohort, were exceptional in many ways, including having their leadership and resilience tested by the pandemic during their programme. Having adapted to go online, they hadn't been able to reconvene in person to mark completion of the programme- until now.

The ceremony was led by DSLP Co-Directors Larry Shulman and Michelle Janes and featured a speech from Jewish Care's Head of Services and Volunteering (and Resource trustee) Jamie Field who talked about the way in which the combined DSLP elements of impact, influence and service have embodied and strengthened the work that he has done since completing the programme during the pandemic.

The group were also joined by programme sponsor David Dangoor who addressed the group, saying:

“I originally came in to see the Gamechangers cohort 10 years ago and I really felt that there was something special going on….I’ve felt that you need to give the tools in order to multiply the effect, and I’ve been so heartened by people not only working inside but also outside the community in areas such as the UK civil service and the Supreme Court”.

Over lunch, we heard from JLC/Lead Fellow 2024-25, DSLP alum and United Synagogue CEO, Jo Grose who shared insights around being a values-led leader.

A fond and belated Mazal tov to all of our DSLP 19-20 graduates; those present, and those unable to join us who were missed. The photograph above features members of the DSLP 19-20 cohort with Co-Directors Larry Shulman and Michelle Janes and Programme Manager Nick Young.
