Paul Langsford is Chair of the Movement for Reform Judaism. Together with his partners in Liberal Judaism, he has been one of the driving forces in the project to create a single Progressive Movement, which will represent nearly one third of synagogue affiliated Jews, with more than 80 synagogues nationally.

Paul has been a member of Alyth, one of the UK’s largest Progressive communities, for 41 years. Over this time, he has served on the synagogue council and executive, chaired the premises, PR and Israel committees, and helped with various fundraising, brand and communication projects. 

He was a governor of Akiva Primary School for 10 years and trustee of the Jewish Community Day School Advisory Board for eight years. He has been a trustee of the Movement for Reform Judaism since 2016, became Vice-Chair in 2018 and has been Co-Chair and then Chair since 2021.
