Leadership vs. Management

Leadership and management both have a huge impact on the effectiveness of a department or organisation.  Although they are used interchangeably, they are not the same and skills and competences need to be developed in both.

  • The aim of this session is to provide an opportunity for managers to assess and reflect on their competencies as both a manager and leader. The session will be interactive in nature and provide opportunities for the delegates to discuss their own challenges and draft an action plan to tackle them.

  • By the end of the workshop, delegates will gain an understanding of:

    • the difference between management and leadership, and the competencies required to be effective in these roles

    • your role, rights and responsibilities when managing diverse individuals and teams

    • your role in managing performance and setting standards for behaviour
